Johnny Blazes is known throughout the country for hir gender-blending, genre-bending, tongue-in-cheek performances. Johnny is notorious for flamboyantly combining clowning with burlesque and drag, glitter with sophistication. Ze is seen regularly at variety shows around hir hometown of Boston, including drag cabaret TraniWreck, and ze co-hosts and curates hir own monthly show, a pseudo-scientific art forum called Hypothesis, with comrade-in-arts Madge of Honor. Johnny also occasionally tours with the fierce performance troupes The Femme Show and The Tranny Roadshow, and will be joining a new tour this spring entitled Gender Queeries, slated to hit the mid- and southern-Atlantic in March. Ze tours across the country throughout the year with workshops, lecture/demos and hir own one-performer show wo(n)man show. Johnny's writing has been published in several anthologies, including Gender Outlaws: The Next Generation, and is on the editorial board of Salacious Magazine. Johnny is also currently working with Emperor Norton's Stationary Marching Band and the Boston Circus Guild on their upcoming DVD, Reign of Revelry.
